This architectural beauty was destroyed by fire and rebuilt; it is still one of the favorite places to visit.  It was also the main feature of Mishima's book, the Temple of the Golden Pavilion.  It seems smaller than what you might expect, but, in its setting and design it has a peaceful, eternal quality.
