Mt. Black and Nicasio Reservoir
Just a couple of miles east of Point Reyes Station in Marin County this large slab of protruding granite appears as a back drop to the Nicasio Reservoir; they call it Mt. Black, obviously not because of its color. The visible fog along the coast does not penetrate this far under normal conditions. The reservoir is home to many species of birds, and the marsh areas provide ideal feeding areas for many.
