On the way from Point Reyes Station to Novato in the North Bay you pass by Black Mountain and the Nicasio Reservoir. There is a semi-private road you can take that ends on a high hill overlooking one part of the reservoir and Black Mountain; it also leads to an imposing home. In the summertime there is a mantle of golden grass and the reservoir water level is low. We revelled at this panoramic view and wondered how we could capture it on canvas. We hope you like the result.
