Nicasio is a small farming community in northern Marin County; it is close to the Point Reyes National Seashore. One of the first things that you will see upon entering is the old church, which is a possible subject of a painting in itself. However, we were attracted to the landscape adjacent to the church which features an old gnarled oak tree and a hill strewn with igneous rocks. There are large rocks by the oak tree which make a nice composition for a painting. I suspect there exist thousands of paintings of this site.
