Punting At Cambridge

As I strolled through the University town of Cambridge, England in the spring of 2002 I started to cross a small bridge. I looked down from the roadway to the small stream flowing underneath and saw these strange looking flat bottomed boats. These must be the punts that I had heard so much about. The propulsion and guidance systems for punts is a man with a long pole which is pushed against the stream bottom.
These punt rides make a fine Sunday afternoon  family outing.
