Spanish Armada
It's Sunday; the fishing fleet is in, and the tide is out. Such is the routine of this Spanish village in the north of Spain. Boats are identified by their bright colors when they go out into the Bay of Biscay and drop their seines. This is the way it was in 1949, the time we "discovered" this part of Spain, off the beaten track, and made the archive photo which was the inspiration of this 24x36 oil.
