There is a group of instruments by Chaldean names listed only in Daniel chapter 3. This is in the story of Shadrach, Meshack, and Abednego in the fiery furnace.
The Daniel references are: 3:5, 3:7, 3:10, and 3:15.
Then the herald loudly proclaimed, "This is what you are commanded to do, O peoples, nations and men of every language: As soon as you hear the sound of the horn (qeren), flute (mashroqiy), zither (qiytros), lyer (sabbeka), harp (pesanteriyn), pipes (sumponeya) and all kinds of music (zemar), you must fall down and worship the image of gold that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up. Whoever does not fall down and worship will immediately be thrown into a blazing furnace." Dan 3:4-6
The use of the word Horn in English translations is somewhat confusing. In places, it is the horn of an animal. In other places, the word 'sophar', or ram's horn, is translated only as horn. The Aramaic word 'qeren' found only in Daniel is also translated as horn.
The Daniel references are: 3:5, 3:7, 3:10, 3:15, 7:8, 7:11, 7:20, 7:21, 7:24.
Daniel 3:5 that when you hear the sound of the horn, pipe, lyre, trigon, harp, bagpipe, and every kind of music, you are to fall down and worship the golden image that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up;
Daniel 3:7 Therefore, as soon as all the peoples heard the sound of the horn, pipe, lyre, trigon, harp, bagpipe, and every kind of music, all the peoples, nations, and languages fell down and worshiped the golden image which King Nebuchadnezzar had set up.
Daniel 3:10 You, O king, have made a decree, that every man who hears the sound of the horn, pipe, lyre, trigon, harp, bagpipe, and every kind of music, shall fall down and worship the golden image;
Daniel 3:15 Now if you are ready when you hear the sound of the horn, pipe, lyre, trigon, harp, bagpipe, and every kind of music, to fall down and worship the image which I have made, well and good; but if you do not worship, you shall immediately be cast into a burning fiery furnace; and who is the god that will deliver you out of my hands?"
In the following, qeren doesn't seem to be a musical instrument.
Daniel 7:8 I considered the horns, and behold, there came up among them another horn, a little one, before which three of the first horns were plucked up by the roots; and behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking great things.
Daniel 7:11 I looked then because of the sound of the great words which the horn was speaking. And as I looked, the beast was slain, and its body destroyed and given over to be burned with fire.
Daniel 7:20 and concerning the ten horns that were on its head, and the other horn which came up and before which three of them fell, the horn which had eyes and a mouth that spoke great things, and which seemed greater than its fellows.
Daniel 7:21 As I looked, this horn made war with the saints, and prevailed over them,
Daniel 8:5 As I was considering, behold, a he-goat came from the west across the face of the whole earth, without touching the ground; and the goat had a conspicuous horn between his eyes.
Daniel 8:8 Then the he-goat magnified himself exceedingly; but when he was strong, the great horn was broken, and instead of it there came up four conspicuous horns toward the four winds of heaven.
Daniel 8:9 Out of one of them came forth a little horn, which grew exceedingly great toward the south, toward the east, and toward the glorious land.
Daniel 8:12 And the host was given over to it together with the continual burnt offering through transgression; and truth was cast down to the ground, and the horn acted and prospered.
Daniel 8:21 And the he-goat is the king of Greece; and the great horn between his eyes is the first king.
