This page is dedicated to the kids' activities and events that we hold at Whelden and at neighboring libraries and halls.
Get ready for SUMMER READING at Whelden! We're part of the Barnstable Libraries' 2012 Collaborative Summer Reading Program, "Dream Big," which means you can participate in summer reading activities ALL OVER BARNSTABLE! Here's some things you can do at Whelden:
- Sign up for our reading program and log the hours you spend tackling those books, either for your required SCHOOL reading, or just for fun! Get a prize at the end of the summer.
- Get the Barnstable Libraries passport and start collecting star stickers to make a constellation. If you visit all seven Barnstable libraries and collect all seven stars, you'll get a prize! Make it a library quest!
- Take a craft workshop with Miss Lindsey and make something cool:
- Making Clay Galaxies, Thursday 12 July at 10:00 a.m.
- Glow Fireflies, Tuesday, 7 August at 12:00 p.m.
Be sure to attend the awesome KICK-OFF party on Wednesday, 27 June at 10:00 a.m. at the OSTERVILLE LIBRARY. Musician and storyteller John Porcino will be there to entertain you, and you can learn all about the fantastic programs all the libraries are hosting.
