In June, Kathy retired from her job as a Resource Room teacher
at Woodmere Elementary School in Eatontown, after 26 years of teaching.
Kathy says, "Retirement - what's not to like?"
- She can actually get the recommended 8 hours of sleep at
night.
- A traffic snarl doesn't ruin her day.
- She can vacation when rowdy children are in school.
- She can finally get her money's worth out of that gym
membership.
- She can be a "lady who lunches."
- She can eat at wonderful restaurants at midday prices.
- She's more available to be a helpful Nana.
- She can spend Thanksgiving with Dan in Austin without
resorting to skullduggery to get Wednesday off.
- She can explore those opportunities she always meant to -
yoga, knitting, beading, literature group.
- She actually has time to enjoy being a church school
teacher and Elder at Hope Church.
- She has time for more visits to her Mom in Pennsylvania and
for her Mom to visit Kathy and Bill.
- She can make small in-roads into getting the house
organized. (... um, not too much to show here, yet.)
- She can really become computer literate instead of faking
it or blaming the computer.
- She has time to be the kind of person she thinks she should
be.
