The Family of Woman

 

There are many different versions of the world “Family of Woman” chart.  Click here to see a simplified diagram that shows the major clans, with Brian Sykes’s names besides the seven he discussed in his book (plus “Iris,” coined by the I web site group).

 

The following chart is from the article by Quintana-Murci et al.[1]  Mitochondrial “Eve” is at the top of the chart and Haplogroup V is shown as the last branch on the lower right part of the chart:

 

 

 

 

 

A somewhat different version of the lower part of this chart was published by the Macauley group.  Haplogroup V is diagrammed in the lower left part of the chart.
