Tip #11 - Page 1

Tip #11 - Enhance Your View with Formatting
"Color is information...instantaneous, reliable, and exact.  It's communication, rich, subtle, and complete.  In fact, it's about the only true language we have, other than music, that doesn't require words."
From Type & Color by Alton Cook and Robert Fleury

This tip is about employing those characteristics of color to enhance the views of your GTD information.  It's about creating a "second dimension" for any of your views, and in doing so, giving you a new tool to "drill down" in your data to find important pieces of information.

As you'll see after exploring this subject, the possibilities are limitless.  So this Tip is just one example of what you can do.  You can expand the technique to fit your needs.

For this example, let's assume that we would like to easily focus each day on Project Next Actions that need immediate attention.  To do this, we'll format the Taskpad view of our Calendar to highlight Next Actions that are due or past due.

Note:  the general steps illustrated in this Tip are applicable to all your Table Views in Outlook.
Step 1 ... Open the View and Select Customize
Open the Table View that you would like to customize with formatting.  Right-Click on the row of column headings.  From the drop-down menu, select "Customize Current View".  The "View Summary" window will pop open.
