Method 1 ... Drag to the Tasks Folder
With the Folder List opened, display your Project List in table view. Select the Project for which you want to create a Task. Left-Click and Hold the Project while dragging it to the Tasks folder in the Folder List. Note: this also works if you drag to the Tasks shortcut in the Outlook Bar (see the screenshot on Page 2 of this tip).
Your Task form will open, filled in with these attributes:
The Project Name will preface the Subject field;
The Project Name and Project Notes, from the Notes area of the Project form (remember Tips #2,3 &4), will populate the Notes area of the Task;
The Project name will link the Task in the Contacts field.
This is a great way to transfer your Project notes and outcome summaries to your Task, which can be an invaluable aid when reviewing how the Task fits into your Project thinking. In addition, GTD practitioners who synch to handhelds may experience some "aha's" with this Task form.
