How Many Licks Does it Take
How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie roll tootsie pop? The world may never know, or at least that is what I thought as a child. I used to watch Mr. Owl take the sucker and count 1, 2, 3 and crunch and then proclaim the answer to be 3 :-), well I now know the real answer. The other day I was sitting at the dinner table with my wife and 3 kids and they were swapping knock knock jokes and other riddles..... so I just looked up and threw out the question, "How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie roll tootsie pop?". I smiled rather pleased with myself when my eldest son by 6 minutes looked up from his plate and gave me the answer of "23", I was just kind of stunned at the serious expression on his face like "duh" to which my wife busts out laughing at me and proceeds to tell me he is MY son hehe, I asked him how he knew that answer and he told me he counted when he was 6 he then also told me it was one of the smaller tootsie pops but that the answer was still 23, so now I know one of two things...... my son couldn't count very good at age 6 or we have discovered a unknown mutant power to slobber some kind of citric acid or something that would break the tootsie pop down that fast....... No more goodnight kisses for him! y'know just in case :-)WhoMe
