by Leloi The camera whizzed around to catch a man with long white hair and dog ears. Off camera a female voice giggled. “Say something.” “Why?” the man asked. The camera tightened on his face and for a moment it is out of focus until it centered on his eyes. “I want to see if this thing works,” the female voice responded. The eyes of the man stared into the camera. There was a hint of some emotion passing through them. “What is that thing?” “It’s a camcorder. I brought it from my time…” The picture jiggled slightly and it panned out to show the man’s face. “Why did you bring it?” “I wanted to take pictures of my friends…” The man’s face lit up for a moment. “Really?” “Really…” It went black. ~.^ The world drunkenly splashed across the screen and focused for a moment on a rather large demon. The demon opened its mouth and roared as a man in red slashed at it with a sword. It went black. ~.^ “What is this thing?” A little boy with a fox tail asked as he pressed his nose to the lens. “Don’t do that!” the same male voice heard earlier cried. The camera moved back to show the little fox boy pouting. “Why not?” “This is Kagome’s Ka-mu-ko-da,” the male voice replied. “What does it do?” “It takes moving pictures and sounds.” It went black. ~.^ A monk sat, quietly eating Pocky™ from a red box. “Say something, Miroku,” the female voice said, panning in to the monk’s face. The monk glanced up into the lens. “I am eating.” His eyes twinkled with amusement. It went black. ~.^ A forest clearing is seen, as if the camera was on the ground. The fox boy walked out in front of the camera and turned around. “And now for the amazing adventures of SHIPPOU!” the boy cried, striking a pose. Half of his body was off screen, but he didn’t seem to notice. “All hail Shippou, mighty kitsune!” he sang. “All hail…” “What are you doing?” the male voice asked as the point of view of the camera lifted off the ground. “Hey! I was using that!” the boy cried indignantly. “Kagome won’t be happy if you…” It went black. ~.^ A girl slept. The camera silently recorded her for a few minutes. It slowly panned in to show her face, slack with sleep. The picture jiggled and refocused. It panned back and the cameraperson crawled towards the subject. It stopped when it was beside her and continued to film her sleeping. Suddenly she opened her eyes. There was a sound of the cameraperson’s gasp and the view trembled. “What are you doing?” “I was filming you,” the male voice replied. “Why?” “I thought you might want to see yourself sleep.” “Inuyasha…” “Sh… sleep. I’ll record it.” She smiled and stared at the camera. Her hand reached out and touched something off camera towards the cameraman. “I wanted to record all the important stuff.” “This is important,” the male voice insisted. “It’s the…” She looked curious. “What?” The cameraman audibly gulped and the camera trembled again. “It’s the highlight of my day.” The girl smiled warmly. She pulled and the camera moved away, recording darkness. Soft moans were heard. The camera came to rest suddenly on its side. It showed the long white haired man kissing the girl as she lay in her sleeping bag. He lifted himself up off of her and smiled down at her. “I love you,” she whispered. He closed his eyes and he visibly shimmered with joy. He opened his eyes and stared at the camera. He slid off of her to sit beside her and reached for the camera. As he did, his eyes twinkled. “And I you…” he whispered to the camera. “What?” the girl asked. “Nothing.” It went blank. ~.^ Kagome sat in her room watching the footage that had been recorded the day she brought her camcorder through the well. Tears threatened to spill from her eyes as she watched hers and Inuyasha’s first kiss, caught forever on tape. She touched her lips and smiled through the tears. Hastily she repacked her bag and pulled the tape from her camcorder. She marked it, “Save!” and tucked it into her desk drawer. She put a new tape and the camera into her bag. She had to hurry. Inuyasha was waiting for her to return. --End |
