Most birds...

  • have two wings, two legs and a beak
  • are covered with feathers
  • are warm-blooded
  • give birth to babies hatched from eggs

Most birds are the same in many ways. But there are differences, too. Some birds spend their whole lives in a warm or a cold part of the world.

Other birds, though, fly to warmer areas when the weather gets chilly. Some birds, even though they have wings, can't fly at all.

And there are birds that can swim in the water!
