Yes, my name really is Winston. I'm named after my Dad who was named after Sir Winston Churchhill. My Grandfather was named after two officers in the War Between the States (there was nothing Civil about it), I'm a Southern boy, born and bred, and proud of it. Also, a baby boomer, so I'm already over the hill! Or as we were taught in the 60's, I'm too old to trust myself anymore! I'm a race fan, saw my first stock car race about 1964, I guess. Been hooked ever since. I love music, older country and classic rock, especially southern rock are my favorites. My current pet peeve is Lynyrd Skynyrd not going into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but Prince is already in? Puleeeze!
... my family
My family tree in America can be traced back to the early 1600's, so we've been here quite a while. Our family came from England, settled in Virginia, and have since migrated just about everywhere. My great-great-great grandfather came to Tennessee in the 1700's, and we've been here ever since.
... my interests
my interest in racing began at a very early age, I blame my father for that fully. Thanks, Dad! I've been a Nascar fan for over 40 years. Other interests now include, Tae Kwon Do, I'm working steadily toward my Black Belt, I should earn my brown belt in the Spring of 2005. Black belt looks to be summer of 2007. Wish me luck!
I also play guitar, mostly acoustic, and mostly just to please myself, but I do love to play music with other folks, that's how you improve, by jamming with folks better than yourself. My other musical interests include classical music. My Mother instilled a love of Classical Music in me, and it just somehow stuck. She was a beautiful, classy lady, and I sure do miss her. I still listen to Liberace in her memory. He may have been gay, but he was one of the best entertainers ever.

I love good Southern Cooking! I'm a meat and 'tater's man all the way, but I do love Italian and Mexican as well as Cajun cooking.
I really think I should include my wife and daughter in the things I like, even though they rank way up at the top of my life.
... my dislikes
I dislike traffic! Drives me crazy! Well, since it sits still, I guess it doesn't really drive me anywhere. See, it's doing it already!
Pop-ups on the computer as well. Even with a blocker, they seem to find thier way in. That and e-mail scams are just simply infuriating to me!
... whatever else
I am a Promise Keeper. I belong to the Men In Christ organization, and it has continued to help make me a better father and husband. It helps keep me focused and to realize my strength comes from God, not from man.
