Here
is a close-up shot of the ATAS installation bracket. This bracket
is a Firestick brand mounting bracket more commonly sold into the
CB market. Firestick has a web page which can easily be found
with a web search. I would post the URL, but it would likely be
wrong a week or 2 later.
The antenna mounting hole in the fire stick mount comes sized for a stud mount type antenna. I had to have the hole drilled out to match the SO-239 mounting that the ATAS requires.
The SO-239 to coax cable adapter is a Comet 3D4MC. This is a really neat, water proof SO-239 adapter with enough coax to reach all the way up to the radio chassis. I highly recommend this little jewel.
Hidden from view.... Bolted to the mounting bracket inside the fender is a braided ground strap. I was able to install the mounting bolts and route the braided ground strap in the fender by taking out the tail light. The braided ground is bolted to the frame below.
The coax routes down to the frame as seen through an existing hole by the tailgate (that was handy).
