You may obtain permission by sending an email to the address

gets through. Digital prints or full resolution data files of any
of these photos can be obtained for a nominal fee by request.
This website does not exist as a front to sell photos, but is
rather just a display of some of my favorite places and moments
in time.
Photo Equipment
By and large, all photos on these pages were created with the
following equipment:
- Nikon D70 and N70 bodies
- Nikkor 24mm f2.8D wide, Nikkor 18-70 f4-5.6D, Nikkor
28-105 f3.5D, Nikkor 105 f2.8D macro, and Nikkor 70-300
f4D tele.
- Lexar Digital Media. Fujichrome Velvia.
- Lowepro Orion AW and Sideline Shooter bags.
- Slik U9000 tripod and monopod.
- Most of the scanned images were created direct from
negatives or slides using HP Photosmart S10 or S20
scanners (see scanner product page for more info). Some
of the older photos, which predate the Photosmart scanner
are PhotoCD scans.
- Printing on HP Photosmart 7980 Printer
- Image editing, cropping, and color balance with Adobe
Photoshop CS.
Digital Darkroom
- These days, the best and easiest way to share photography
with friends is via the web or e-mail. Previously, I
always developed and printed my film, then used Kodak
PhotoCD services for scanning. I use an HP
Photosmart S20 35mm film scanner. I previously owned
the original Photosmart scanner, which I now refer to as
the S10 model. Since getting Photosmart scanners, I have
found I no longer need to have a photo developing service
print my negatives. This saves a few bucks a roll and
it's a lot more fun to scan and review the images on a
17" computer monitor. The Photosmart does a pretty
good job on 35mm negative scans, but I always do some
touch up using Photoshop CS or Picture Publisher 8. Many
photographers are notably proud of and brag about the
fact that none of the photos in their portfolios have
been digitally altered or manipulated. I for one do not
make that claim. I really enjoy using the digital
darkroom to enhance my scans to make them pleasing to the
eye of the most important beholder...me! If you have a
problem with this, then exit now.
