LEAPS   Statewide computerized index of most criminal/law enforcement

        information.  Is the access link to NCIC, NLETS, ALARS.

NCIC    Nationwide CIS of documented criminal justice info, ie, wanted &

        missing persons, and stolen property

NLETS   Highspeed message switching system between national agencies,

        most often used for out of state vehicle/license checks.

ALARS   Massachusetts registry motor vehicle registration/license system.

        Also known as DRIVES.

DEXTROSE - Sugar

DIAPHERETIC - Sweating.

DISTENDED - stretched/swollen

DYSPNEA - Painful breathing

INCONTINENCE - Inability to prevent flow of urine/feces

IPECAC - Medication which induces vomiting.

LINE - An IV line.

MAST SUIT - Military Antishock Trousers.  Inflatable pants that keep

            blood to the heart from the legs.

NASAL CANULA - Oxygen administered via nose.

NEURAL DEFICITS - Problems related to the nervous system.

PIGGYBACK - To hang a second solution to an initial IV line.

PREPARE & HOLD - Mix drug but do not administer.

PRONE - Laying flat & facedown.

PUSH - An IV push.  To inject medication from a syringe into an IV line.

RUN - A drip IV.

SINUS TACH - Sinus Tachycardia (any heart rate over 100 bpm)

SUBCUTANEOUS - Beneath the skin.

SUBLINGUAL - Under the tongue.

SUPINE - Laying flat & face up.

SYNCOPABLE EPISODE - A fall.

URTICARIA - Hives.

VITALS - Vital signs.
