Curriculum
The Preschool Program is based upon key experiences in the High Scope Curriculum. Active learning, using language, representing experiences and ideas, and developing logical reasoning are included in the curriculum. Themes are used throughout the year. The classrooms are comprised of specialized areas, which may include art, pretend play, blocks, puzzle and games, sensory tables, listening center, writing center and reading areas. Hands-on experiences are encouraged and supported in all classroom areas. The daily schedule includes a combination of teacher and child-directed activities.
The preschool curriculum is based upon the Massachusetts curriculum frameworks, which are content strands and learning standards for subject areas.
