WOBURN SCHOOL DISTRICTS
Woburn Massachusetts has nine public elementary school districts. These districts in turn feed two middle schools and one high school. This website shows the break down of city streets for each of these school districts.
This is a non-commercial site intended as a public service. Note than in order to label lengthy street names on the various maps, it was often necessary to alter the scale or distort certain map segments. Click on MAP ICON above to view and navigate the 2004-2005 Woburn School Districts Map.
Starting AUGUST 1, 2004, some streets will be re-aligned and school districts for the Goodyear, Malcolm White, and Shamrock Schools will be re-drawn to relieve over-crowding at the Goodyear School and to take advantage of newer facilities at these schools. The Map and data presented here reflects these changes.
Beware that although a student's assigned school is normally determined by the student's resident street location, it is sometimes necessary to transport students to a school that is out-of the district. This is done to avoid over-crowding, or because a school building may be under renovation or construction.
During the 2003-2004 School Year MALCOLM WHITE SCHOOL students are being transported to the old Reeves School while a new White School is under construction. The New Malcolm White School is scheduled to be opened for the 2004 - 2005 School Year.
In addition, Children who reside at the Jefferson Place Apartments on Cedar Street, who are were bused to the Shamrock School in 2003-2004, will be bused instead to the Malcolm White School starting at the beginning of the 2004 - 2005 school year.
- 1. The streets in the table below represent the realignment.
- 2. Parents who live on realigned streets and wish to, may continue to send their children to the Goodyear School. The children will be grandfathered into the Goodyear School.
- 3. No transportation will be provided for children who are grandfathered in to the Goodyear School.
- 4. Families new to the Goodyear School who live on realigned streets must go to the assigned school in September 2004.
- 5. Middle school students who live on streets realigned to the Shamrock School will go to the Joyce Middle School. Students currently attending the Kennedy Middle School may continue to do so, but transportation will not be provided.
- 6. Two new classrooms will be opened in the Goodyear School to accommodate the needs of the students.
- 7. Any Goodyear School parents who wish their children to attend the Malcolm White or Shamrock Schools may apply to do so as out-of-district students.
