Seven Times to Pray

Psalms 119:164

 “ Seven times a day do I praise thee because of thy righteous judgments.”

 

1.   In the morning (Psalm 5:3; Psalm 88:13; Psalm 143:8)

Psalm 5:3  My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer  unto thee, and will look up.

Psalm 88:13  But unto thee have I cried, O Lord; and in the morning shall my prayer prevent thee.

Psalm 143:8  Cause me to hear thy loving kindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.

 

2.   Day and night (Psalm 88:1)

Psalm 88:1  A Song or Psalm for the sons of Korah, to the chief Musician upon Mahalath Leannoth, Maschil of Heman the Ezrahite.O Lord God of my salvation, I have cried day and night before thee:

 

3.   Morning, noon, and night (Psalm 55:17; Daniel 6:10)

Psalm 55:17  Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.

Daniel 6:10  Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.

 

4.   All night (Luke 6:12 Psalm 63:6)

Luke 6:12  And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.

Psalm 63:6

       When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.

 

5.   Without ceasing (1 Thes. 5:17)

1 Thes. 5:17  Pray without ceasing.

 

6.   Always (Ephes. 6:18)

Ephes. 6:18  Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

 

7.   In time of need (Hebrews 4:16)

Hebrews 4:16  Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
