If the residents of Worth are complaining about how much money the new mayor
would make, what would they say about how much money the Park Director makes.
According to his contract which he wrote up and presented to the Park Board,
the first
year he would make $55,000 with an annual increase of 5% each additional year.
The second year he would make
$57,750 and the third a salary of $60,500.
He is
also eligible for merit raises in addition to his annual salary increases.
His benefits
are as follows. After his first
day of work he is entitled to insurance
coverage, 12 accumulated sick days and 15 vacation days.
He also has a monthly
vehicle allowance of not less than $80.00 per month after State and Federal
taxes for travel
including to and from his house
in Romeoville.
The terms of
this contract are for three years. If
the Park Board decides to keep the
Park Director on after three years the contract would be for two years but
otherwise
would remain the same. The
District can terminate the contract by giving 365 days notice
or pay the Director 50% of his annual salary and benefits.
The Director may terminate his
employment with the District upon 30 days notice.
What were the
Park Board Commissioners thinking when they signed this contract?
