The Worth Reporter
Letter to the Editor for publication this week
I would like all the residents of Worth to know what a treasure of memories
await
them at the Worth Park District Museum at 115th & Beloit.
Many residents have
donated items to this Museum and it is worth a visit.
I am a member of the Worth
Museum Historical Society and most Tuesdays I volunteer to cut, paste etc.
articles
for a written history of Worth.
When I saw the tentative Budget and Appropriation Ordinance for this fiscal
year
I was curious why so many staff salaries are taken from the Museum Budget when
they have nothing to do with the Museum.
15% of the Director of Parks & Recreation's
salary, 20% of the Finance and Personnel Manager's salary, 10% of the
Administrative
Clerk's salary, 15% of the Superintendent of Recreation's salary and $21,500
for
Maintenance salaries.
I am not saying this is illegal but it certainly is an abuse of the Museum
budget.
Perhaps the two newly elected park district commissioners would question this.
