No doubt you've heard or read much about our former Curator, Christine Brooks,
a 27 year resident of Worth who resigned from the Worth Park District
Historical
Museum to preserve her health, because of unbearable treatment from within.
Her honors and accomplishments were widely acclaimed in more than seven local
newspapers. Christine was named
"Illinoisan of the Day" at the State Fair on August
21, 2009 for volunteerism and her work with the Worth Historical Museum.
She received awards and praise from the following:
A Proclamation from the
Governor and Secretary of State
Recognition and
Commemoration from the 96th General Assembly of Illinois
A Certificate of
Appreciation from the Worth Historical Museum
A Congratulatory
Letter from State Representative Renee Kosel
A Certificate of
Achievement from Randy Keller, the Mayor of the Village of Worth
In spite of all these prestigious awards, Christine received no recognition or
congra-
tulations from the Worth Park District where she worked for more than 10
years. She
loved her job and was a very devoted public servant.
What a pity that some elected officials with 20/20 vision cannot see beyond
the tip of
their nose.

and Museum Volunteer since 1995
