In today's world of the Internet with literally millions of computers all connected together through various Internet services, it is imperative that everyone has a very good Antivirus package installed on their computers. Even a "stand alone" unit that gets information downloaded to it via a floppy disk or CD-ROM should have Antivirus installed on it. To not have Antivirus is the same thing as playing Russian Roulette with your computers information.

Below is a compilation of online Antivirus scanning utilities that I highly recommend. These utilities are free to use and they are available for purchase if you like them. Even if you have an Antivirus package installed on you computer, sometimes it's good to have another package scan your computer just to be sure that it is safe from infection.

Panda Antivirus: www.pandasecurity.com. This is the package that I not only use on my computers at home, I use the Enterprise version on my network too. I highly recommend this package for everyone. PC-Cillin: www.antivirus.com. This product by Trend Micro is one of the leading Antivirus products on the market. Click on the link to the left and get your free checkup online. This is the other package that I use on some of my home computers.

AVG: www.grisoft.com. A very free and very good Antivirus package. I use this brand on one of my computers as well as on all new computers that I build or repair for clients. The price is just right, it offers automatic updating and it requires very little system resources like some of the larger products that are not listed on this page.
