1LE Suspension Parts Installation

1LE 21mm Rear Anti-Sway bar and lower control arms

1LE "Insulators"

1LE LCAs - Blue Dot / Green marks on bushings

1LE End link mounts for the anti-sway bar

I decided not to relocate the jounce bumpers. It would be too much work and although possible the benefits are questionable so I decided not to mess with it.

Below are the instalation pictures of the 1LE parts.

Very special thanks to Jim at Driven To Performance for working on the car at his shop, for free, hot-dogs included!

Here is the car getting ready to be lifted

Here is the original End link on the rear passenger side. The yellow arrow points to the pink ring that means soft compound. The 1LE end link doesn't have any rings.

Two pictures showing the original sway bar with the original insulators.

1LE Sway bar getting ready to receive the 1LE insulators. I guess Jim is having fun with the teflon grease...

Nothing like having the right tools for the job. The lift and the air impact wrench make the job so easy! Of course we had to do it again, we put the sway bar inverted...

Ah ha! Now it's right. 1LE Sway bar installed. There is no load on the bar yet, that's why it's pointing down at the center.

1LE LCA installed. It was so easy to put this thing on, no grease was ever necessary. Bolts were tighten to 87lb of torque.

Here you can see how the bushings are different. The original (left) has a pink dot and the bushing has indentations. The 1LE LCAs (right) have the blue dot  and the bushings have no indentation.

I ordered 2 more 1LE end links so we installed them at the front sway bar. I didn't get a new sway bar  though.

Done! Saw a "little brother" there so I decided to take some pics by his side...

Those are just for comparison between the rear wing and the tires. I think both look cool but of course I endorse having the widest tires you can fit... :o)

Comments:
Before the installation of the 1LE parts I had no other mods besides the wheels, tires and pro kit as well as the BMR Xtreme tower brace. After having the 1LE   parts installed I went for a spin at some curvy roads and I can tell that body roll was greatly reduced.

I am impressed with the 1LE end links and insulators. I  thought they would give me louder road noise and stiffer ride but it didn't happen. In fact the road noise is the same, perhaps lower probably because the original bushings were already worn out.

Ride is not stiffer than before, I can't notice any difference.

I highly recommend this mod because the bushings are not so hard like the aftermarket urethane ones and not so soft as the stock ones. It's a great  compromise between handling and comfort.

I want to thank everyone at www.theformulasource.com for the great posts full of advices on everything related to these cars.
