Fourteen years ago, Operation Solomon airlifted over 14,000 Ethiopian Jews to Israel in less than two days. This remains an incredible effort, but 18,000 more are stranded as social outcasts in Ethiopia. In the heart of Ethiopia's capital, Addis Ababa, lies a compound containing most of those left behind. For my Mitzvah Project, I am selling the embroideries that they make in the compound. Each embroidery is a pillow cover, but they are perfect for hanging on the wall. The proceeds are going towards meals for the children there; just $72 will feed a child for a whole year.
