Reyes is a very good defensive catcher with a good arm. Unfortunately, he's shown no ability to hit and won't take a walk. He shared catching duties in the GCL and at Williamsport in his first two years, then spent the first half of 2004 backing up at Hickory. When the NY-P season started, he returned there and shared C with Brandon Reddinger. His defensive skills will probably keep him employed as a backup in class A somewhere for a while, but he's such a weak hitter that he's unlikely to make it any further. He opened 2005 on the Hickory roster, but doesn't figure to play much with Neil Walker and Steve Lerud there.
