Hofius was drafted twice before but didn't sign. He's reputed to be good with the glove. In college he was a line drive hitter with only a little power, so he probably does not have much of a ceiling. He had a good walk rate at Williamsport and hit for a little more power than might have been expected, but he also fanned a lot. He shared 1B/DH duties with Tim Brown. He opened 2005 at Hickory as the backup to Dario Delgado.
