Peabody and Steve Lerud were the only potential power prospects that the Pirates
drafted and signed in 2003. Peabody was regarded as having a lot of raw power, but
as being likely to have trouble making consistent contact. He signed early but
didn't play in 2003 due to an injury. He was not regarded as being strong defensively
and the Bucs moved him to 1B, either due to perceived limitations on his part or
due to their lack of a 1B prospect in the GCL. He played only sparingly in 2004,
drawing a lot of walks but not making contact much nor showing any power. He'll
most likely return to the GCL.
