The Pirates acquired Sucre when they ditched J.J. Davis. He was considered a five-tool prospect, but very raw. He's done little with the bat so far except fan a great deal. He supposedly runs well and is a decent defensive player. Given his weak showing in low A in 2004, the Pirates returned him to that level, where he'll start in an OF corner.
