Andy Wilson is Jack Wilson's older brother. The Pirates signed him to a minor league contract shortly after signing Jack to a two-year deal. It's quite likely that they signed Andy as a courtesy to their marquee player. Like his brother, Andy is known as a scrappy player, but he obviously lacks his brother's physical gifts. He's had brief stints with the Padres and Diamondbacks, and has played several years of indy ball. Unlike Jack, he seems willing to take a walk, but overall his value appears limited. He's played both IF and OF. He started the season as a UT player with Lynchburg.
