Solano looked like a prospect after a solid 2003 season at Bradenton, in which he hit for average, drew some walks and showed a little power. Unfortunately, he turned out to be 16 months older than was previously thought. His hitting declined a little at Williamsport and his power largely disappeared. He was used mainly as a backup and was passed on the depth chart by Jermal Lomack, who had a better season than he did. He's getting a little old for the low minors. He opened 2005 as a backup at Hickory.
