Harris spent two years at Manatee CC, where the Pirates probably saw him in their
annual exhibition game against Manatee. He played 2B and CF in his junior year at
South Carolina, hitting .295 with 5 HRs. He moved to SS his senior year and hit
355/371/457 with 5 BBs and 15 Ks in 276 ABs. So far as a pro, he's hit little beyond
a few singles, which is consistent with his record in college, where most of his
offensive value came from his average. He seems pretty solid defensively. After
serving as a UT IF at Williamsport, he moved up to Hickory and filled the same role,
also playing some in the OF. He'll play a UT role at Lynchburg in 2005.
