       Defibrillators

Washington Township Police became the first department in the area to begin utilizing AED's. The AED's allow officers to administer defibrillation shock to persons who are in cardiac arrest. The AED's were obtained by a grant through the Westmoreland County Emergency Medical Services. All the officers were then trained on their use, and the AED's were placed in the cruisers as part of the standard equipment used daily.
