Parking Ordinance:
Below is Section 4 of the parking Ordinance, it is the most common section used
to enforce the Ordinance. It should be noted that there are other sections, a

Section 4. At any time it shall be unlawful
to permit any vehicle
to stand in any of the following places, except when necessary to
avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the direction
of a policeman or traffic control device:
A. In any intersection or in any crosswalk;
B. On the crest of any hill or on the berm at any curve where
such parking will reduce the usable width of the highway
or impair the vision of any motorist:
C. Upon any bridge or viaduct or in any underpass or the
approaches thereto;
D. Within thirty (30) feet of a traffic signal, beacon, or
sign on the approaching side;
E. Within twenty (20) feet of any intersection or crosswalk;
F. At any place where the standing of a vehicle will reduce
the usable width of the roadway for moving traffic to less
than twenty (20) feet; however, where the street or highway
has been paved, no vehicle shall be parked within six (6)
feet of the paved portion;
G. Within fifteen (l5) feet of a fire hydrant;
H. Within fifty (50) feet of the nearest rail of a railroad
grade crossing; and
I. At any place where official signs prohibit parking.
WHERE DO I PAY A PARKING TICKET?
Parking tickets must be mailed in to 289 Pine Run Church Road, Apollo, PA
15613 or personally delivered to the Township Secretary at the Municipal
Complex, Monday- Friday 0900 until 1500hrs.
HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO PAY THE TICKET?
Parking tickets cost $10.00 must be paid within 72 hours of issuance. If they are not
paid within that time period, a citation will be issued with a fine of $25.00 to $50.00
plus costs of prosecution, and, in default of payment of such fine and costs, to be
imprisoned in the county jail for not more than thirty (30) days.
WHAT INFORMATION DO I NEED TO INQUIRE ABOUT A PARKING CITATION?
You need to know either the correct tag number and state of the vehicle to which the
citation was issued, or the actual citation number.
CAN I CHALLENGE THE CITATION IN COURT?
If the parking ticket is not paid within 72 hours, a state citation is issued and you
have 10 days to plead guilty or not guilty and request a hearing at the District Justice.
WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT ARE ACCEPTED?
If you are mailing in your fine, you should send a check. ALWAYS WRITE YOUR TAG NUMBER AND
TICKET NUMBER ON THE CHECK! If you are placing the fine in a drop box, you may pay by cash
or check. If you are paying in person, you may pay by cash or check.
