1. What the heck? Why REPRO paperwork?

You wouldn't want your originals getting wrecked out in the field, would you?

2. Why WWII US Army paperwork?

It's my Living History impression (117th Infantry Regiment / 30th Infantry Division - HRS)

3. Why paperwork?

It completes your impression.
Why spend a boatload of money on all the gear, weapons, and uniforms and have nothing in your pockets?

GIs ALWAYS had stuff in their pockets. They needed ID and a Paybook to get paid, no Paybook, no pay.

They also carried around the odd pass, ticket stub, leave map and the like. I have talked to veterans who are really impressed by the fact that our unit has paperwork and passes. It seems to impress them a lot.

4. Aren't there other people making this stuff?

I haven't run across too many people making these items. There is an individual making just the paybooks out in New Jersey and there was someone out of the UK (Polarbear Enterprises), but Polarbear Enterprises has
gone out of business.

5. How do you make these Repro items?

My preferred method is to get an original item and scan in the information. I clean up the scan, add text and serial numbers and print off a copy using paper stock that would closely approximate the original. I have, on occasion, used pictures of items and scanned/typeset and scaled them to the right size.

6. How do you know what you are doing?

I have been a Graphic Designer for 20 years and have 2 Art degrees.
My paperwork speaks for itself.
