KAYAKING & CAMPING AT ASSATEAGUE ISLAND

Assateague Island National Seashore, Maryland

There are a number of kayaking and camping opportunities at Assateague Island National Seashore and Assateague State Park.  For those who need plush accommodations, nearby Ocean City, Maryland has a large array of hotels and motels to meet your needs and is only about a 20-30 minute ride to Assateague.  For those paddlers who like to camp, kayakers can paddle day trips on the bay while camping at the Assateague State Park sites with water/electric hookups and restroom/shower facilities.  For the more adventurous paddlers who like to be out in the wilderness, there are a also number of backcountry campsites on the Assateague Island National Seashore.
