JONES TIDE POOL - BARNEGAT BAY, NJ
Friday July 21st, 2000
Beneath the weeping willows, in the solitude of Swan Point off Mantoloking Road, we launched our kayaks in the quiet canal. This area in Brick Township, NJ, borders the Reedy Creek acquisition of the Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge.
Linda is one of my Zen paddling partners. Here she is at the confluence of Jones Tide Pool and Barnegat Bay
Sail riggings, hitting the masts on the docked sailboats, created nautical chimes. Each boat had its own distinct sound but together they created a marina melody among the background vocals of a few squawking gulls.
Linda attempts to make a K-turn in her 17 ft. Prijon Seayak in this narrow tidal estuary of Jone's Tide Pool.
