... about me

The Youth Advisory Task Force itself is really a huge step for West Windsor--no other township does this. I feel that not a lot of residents, let alone kids (including myself), are really aware of how their town operates. And I don't think that's right--we're all part of West Windsor's community, and if given the chance to better understand and contribute to the decision-making process of our town, I'd like to think that we'd all seize onto this opportunity. So one of the things I hope the Task Force accomplishes is for other townships to realize that it is advantageous to actively engage the ideas and perspectives that youths bring to the table. At our first meeting, we pretty much agreed that West Windsor needs to be more teen friendly. One of the first things that struck us was the lack of a teen center where youths could go and feel welcome. This is one of our long-term goals. Currently, we're working on forums and events for youths, where we're really looking to engage everyone who is interested and reach out to those who aren't. We're looking to get a lot more input and opinions from the town?s youth on current township concerns such as the building of a transit village (it affects us too!). Anyone can email us at wwyouth@comcast.net to volunteer and help :-)

I'm currently a junior at WWPHS South. I'd like to pursue a communications major in college and hopefully work in public relations or public policy.
