When my father was a child, he and his brothers and sisters were considered underprivileged urban children that several farming families ‘took in’ for summers so they could see the benefits of fresh air and cow patties. The Stutzman family of central Illinois took in my father, aunts and uncles for years. Harold Stutzman is on the left, followed by Berness, Grace, and my father. |
