A Visit to The Canadian Canoe Museum
Peterborough, Ontario
This site was intended to be a record of my visit to the Canadian Canoe Museum to see its traditional skin boat collection. I visited the museum on Monday, October 13, 2003. Unfortunately, the museum shut its doors due to financial problems on Wednesday, October 15, 2003. Luckily, the museum was able to secure funding and reopened after a short hiatus. The pages of this site show much of the collection.

A view of the collection. There are three main racks of boats, as well as a floor display of three Eastern Arctic Kayaks. The museum did not provide much detail on any of the boats beyond boat type and dimensions. I will provide as much detail on each boat as I have. If you can fill in any holes in my information, feel free to contact me via this link and I will add the information.
