- The 1st edition New York Times Cook Book you sent arrived yesterday and I am so pleased with it. My original copy, which I purchased in my 20’s (I’m now in my 60’s) was so torn and tattered and it’s back was broken and was held together with large rubber bands. Also, some sections were so stained I could barely read often used recipes. I looked long and hard and unsuccessfully in many used book stores for a replacement. I love this cook book and all the recipes I’ve tried are delicious and don’t require unfamiliar ingredients or special culinary expertise. So, thanks for getting the excellent copy to me and so promptly. I will surely refer friends to your web site and plan to explore it further myself. 01/23/2007
