This K98 dual purpose, no gunsmith mount has two layers of mounts made of aircraft aluminum. This mount system serves dual purposes. The bottom mount is a fully functional "scout mount" installed on the rear sight. One can put a LER scope on this "scout mount". The top layer is a removable extended rail that mounts on top of the scout mount. One can also put regular scope on the top layer.With this system one has a choice of either install a regular scope or a LER scope without permanently modifying his K98.
