Dear Campers,
We anticipate that this camp will again fill
up quickly! In order to assure our camp is a success for each
individual we would like to address some questions and concerns
parents and campers may have when registering.
Because of the overwhelming popularity of the
Position Specialization Camp, players will be grouped into
"Waves". Players will be grouped initially by grade and 2007
playing level, and then assigned to Early and Late Wave groups.
"Wave" assignments will use the following guidelines:
Early Wave: girls entering 9th and 10th grade, with
middle school and frosh/soph level playing experience.
Late Wave: girls entering 11th grade
and above with junior varsity and varsity level playing
experience. Also girls entering the 10th grade with junior
varsity and varsity experience.
Wave Assignments
Each "Wave" consists of blocks of court time that alternate
throughout each day of camp. As an example on the first day of
camp, the "Early Wave" group will be on the court from 1:30 -
3:30 and 5:30 - 7:15, while the "Late Wave" group will be on the
court from 3:30 - 5:30 and 7:15 - 9:00. Please note there are
scheduled mandatory presentations, demonstration and meals
during portions of the off-court time.
Leveling
Within each "Wave" players are grouped according to position and
ability level through an extensive leveling of skills process
that takes place on the first day of camp. This process is in
place to assure each player is placed at the appropriate level
from the beginning and throughout the remainder of camp. We will
have excellent coaches both in the leveling process and
throughout all levels of this camp.
Rooming
Also, we typically house each "Wave" in separate wings of our
on-campus residence hall. Please be aware that if you register
to room with someone of a different grade/playing level, we can
accommodate your request, but you may be in the opposite "Wave"
and therefore have different eating and sleeping schedules.
