95 Is Alive - Site dedicated to keeping Windows 95 alive, with several Windows 95 tricks, tweaks and fixes. Most things here also work for Win 98/ME.

AVG AntiVirus Free Edition - This will take you to the Grisoft website for the free AVG AntiVirus software. I've been using this for a while now, and it's just as good, if not better than the pay products such as Norton or McAffe.

How to run Windows ME well, v5 - Very nice guide for those running Windows ME. I've used this guide on my Windows ME installation, and I've never really had any major trouble with Win ME (contrary to what many people will tell you). I personally think Windows ME can be as good as, if not better then, Windows 98SE.

Microsoft Virtual PC 2004 - This is an excellent program, now completely free, lets you create separate virtual machines on your Windows desktop, each of which virtualizes the hardware of a complete physical computer. You can use virtual machines to run operating systems such as MS-DOS, Windows, Linux, OS/2, etc.. You can run multiple operating systems at once on a single physical computer and switch between them as easily as switching applications -  instantly, with a mouse click. Only supported on Windows 2000 Pro and XP Pro, but it'll also run fine in XP Home. - Virtual PC 2004 SP1.zip - 18.2MB

MSConfig for Windows 95 - This is the useful utility from Windows 98 that allows you to configure exactly what's starting up when Windows starts. Works great in Windows 95, just extract it to your C:\Windows\System folder. - msconfig95.zip - 23KB

MSConfig for Windows 2000 - This is the useful utility from Windows XP that allows you to configure exactly what's starting up when Windows starts. Works great in Windows 2000, just extract it to your C:\WinNT\System32 folder. - msconfig2000.zip - 63KB

Royale theme for Windows XP/2003 - This is the Royale theme from Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, released by Microsoft for Windows XP and 2003 a while back. Pretty spiffy, I personally like it a lot better than XP's default blue.

SpellWrite - Excellent universal spell checker for any program in Windows that has a text box of any kind! Contains auto-detecting setup for Windows 3.1, 95, and 98. - spell.zip - 1.4MB
