I bought this truck in August, 2000. It was one of the last 2000 models to come off the assembly line. Picked it up with 7 miles on the odometer! After 2 3/4 years, I put 200,000 miles on it because I was working for a courier service delivering aircraft engine parts. I offroaded the truck FREQUENTLY and got some battle scars, but otherwise the truck lived its life with no real trouble at all. When I took the head off, there was hardly any wear! It looked like you could eat off the inside of the motor.
I modified this truck extensively- Even though it was not as big as other Tacomas, it was probably one of the most original.
I belong to the national Tacoma Territory Off-Road Association, and I was the New England Chapter Vice President during 2003. Since I no longer own the Tacoma, I'm not really considered to be a member any longer, but I will still be active with these clubs for some time to come. The people I have met through the TTORA forums and during club outings are great friends of mine. Nessie lives forever through the trucks that may carry some of her parts!
