Specs and details of the Framed 8.0 machine:
Main housing:
3/4" Plywood mount plate
3/4" plywood stands for the water tubes, tied into aluminum subframe for glass
Plexiglas main panel, removable with four spherical thumbscrews
Black border and grey accents painted from inside
Center symbol hand painted from inside, grey with black border
Inwin Q500 server case removable motherboard tray screwed to mount panel
Brass thumbscrews for expansion cards
Plexi covers for all six 5 1/4" bays, windowed by painting from inside
8 brass thumbscrews and standoffs for these panels make it easy to maintain the system
Two Cold Cathode blue lights, external inverters mounted at lower corners of mount panel(exposed) and custom wiring
Lengths of all four rounded IDE cables purchased to fit the application (one red), power cable modifications to accomodate the additional connectors and lengths
Polystyrene covers painted with masked symbols- "Indi-glow" style
Power supply mounted to mobo tray
Power supply: Antec, heavily modified with Plexi window, 5 bright green LED's custom soldered to 12v input, power for air pump soldered into power supply 110 VAC. Window drilled for power, reset, and both LED's and the wiring harness for motherboard hand made
Air pump mounted beside power supply, dual outlet high-power model
Air rocks for the ends of clear tubing inside of two glass Tower Vases, 24" tall
Two one-way valves prevent the backflow of water into the tubes
Hard drive mounts (4) are all removable with a key, and easily swappable
Drive layout: 24 total custom aluminum drive brackets. Top two drives are a Seagate bootable RAID 1 array at 60 GB, middle right side is a Seagate 40 GB drive for work space (Video, Audio), and the lowest right side is an exposed IBM 4.3 GB non-functional dummy drive- worked like this for three weeks!
The optical drives on the left side are a DVD-ROM on top, and HP CDRW below. Both are fully functional and disks eject on the left side of the machine. Tops of both drives cut out for your viewing pleasure, centered in Plexi windows
Card-mounted cooling fan powered by motherboard, also powers 5 bright green LED's aimed at motherboard, attached to fan behind custom rounded fan cover. Custom brackets for card attachment and Brass thumbscrews
Dual temperature monitor with upper reading from video card core. Lower reading is CPU temp, measured INSIDE the P4 socket. Custom light attached to main mounting board with bright green LED aimed at display, custom brackets
9 total fans:
Power supply, CPU, video (custom fan and cable), expansion card fan, Northbridge cooler, and four hard drive fans inside removable frames
