This ALL BALSA VIPER II meter is the latest developement in our ARF series of Competition Pattern models that began with the Summit. The VIPER IIm meets the requirements of the serious competitor seeking to get away from the usual fiberglass fuselage without surrendering the advantages of recent developements in aerobatic design and aircraft specifications. We have shown that a balsa fuselage can be lighter than fiberglass and have greater rigidity. It can also better absorb the punishing vibrations of the latest 4 stroke 120's. Like its predecessors the VIPER IIm does not require mixing to overcome design shortcomings. Here are a few comments from Archie J. Stafford on his IIm Viper.
"I finished second last weekend at North Carolina. The wind was unreal, but the Viper held up beautifully. I put in the best flight I have ever flown even in 25 mph winds. Overall I would say that the Viper is the best flying pattern plane that I have flown. I have flown the Sequel and Prophecy and I think that the Viper flies as well in all aspects and even out performs them in others.
Archie has only been flying competition for a couple of years but he takes it very seriously and there is no doubt in my mind that he has the potential to win the Nats. The fuselage of Archie's Viper was custom built around the UAV Bully 120. The pipe tunnel was extended and the firewall required a different holes pattern for the mount. These relatively simple changes are best done during the framing when the fuselage is still in the jig. It is part of the special service we are proud to offer all our clients.
